Look, I know what you’re thinking. “Amy, my TBR pile is currently a structural hazard.” I get it. I’m living it. But April 2026 has decided to be absolutely relentless, and honestly? I’m not even mad about it. So here are my April 2026 10 Most Anticipated Fantasy & Romantasy Books.
If my bank account has to suffer so my shelves can look like a medieval cathedral, then so be it. From sequels that will probably ruin my life to deluxe editions that are definitely prettier than I am, here are the Top 10 Fantasy & Romantasy books that are officially authorized to take all my money this month.
The April Lineup: Fantasy & Romantasy
1. The Throne of Broken Gods (Deluxe Edition) by Amber V. Nicole If you haven’t read The Book of Azrael, what are you even doing? This sequel is 700+ pages of high stakes and emotional damage. It’s got stenciled edges and exclusive art, so yes, it’s a “need,” not a “want.”
- Release Date: April 28, 2026

2. The Tempest Blade by Danielle L. Jensen The Bridge Kingdom finale is finally here. If you like your romance with a side of “we might actually kill each other before we kiss,” Danielle L. Jensen is your queen.
- Release Date: April 14, 2026

5. The Thorn Queen by Sasha Peyton Smith Victorian-inspired fae romantasy? Say less. This is the sequel to The Rose Bargain, and it involves lethal court intrigue and a very “wicked revelry” vibe.

7. The Book Witch by Meg Shaffer A story about a witch who can jump into her favorite novels? I feel attacked. This sounds like a whimsical, magical mystery that I’ll probably finish in one sitting.
- Release Date: April 7, 2026
8. The Arachnid by I.V. Ophelia Gothic dark fantasy that’s been blowing up on social media. It’s creepy, it’s moody, and it’s the perfect aesthetic for my “don’t talk to me, I’m reading” mood.

9. Bulletproof (Deluxe Edition) by K.M. Moronova Special ops meet dark fantasy. He’s a weapon, she’s the one who can break him—you know the drill. This deluxe edition is too sleek to skip and a perfect addition to my April 2026 10 Most Anticipated Fantasy books.
- Release Date: April 28, 2026
10. The Summer Hikaru Died, Vol. 7 by Mokumokuren If you aren’t reading this manga, you’re missing out on some of the best horror-fantasy out there. Volume 7 promises more village mysteries and non-human tension.

The Final Verdict -April 2026 10 Most Anticipated Fantasy
April is basically a month-long birthday party for my bookshelf, and my wallet is the only one not invited. My advice? Get those pre-orders in for the Deluxe Editions now, because once those stenciled edges are gone, they’re gone, and we don’t do “FOMO” here.
