I had a random thought last night that I wanted to share. I was reading a book and I got to page 100. I always get a little thrill when I get to page 100, like Ihave accomplished something. The most interesting part is that I mentally acknowledge that I have read the first one hundred pages and can now settle into the book. It’s almost as if I have unwittingly designated the first one hundred pages of any book as the beginning, and once I am past I am reading the “meat” of the book. No more intrductions, no more prep, here is the story.
Does anyone else feel this way? Or does anyone else have little reading quirks? I would love to hear from you!

Hi,
Ah yes, and I'm a fifty pages freak. It's the make or break point of whether the book has grabbed me or not… 😮 If it has bored me thus far I put in the loo for forced reading! 🙂

I definitely have reading quirks. I try never to pick up a book unless I have time to read it, but when I do, I refuse to let myself be interrupted until I've at least made it to page 10. LOL. I usually have to be caught up in the story by page 50 to continue, but sometimes certain books need more build up and back up story especially if it's a series, and I will hang in longer. And I have this bad habit of eating when I read. It's worse than going to the movies and needing a bag of popcorn;)

I agree!!! I am worse, as I cannot give up on a book. I almost take it personally if I give up on a book. Like I have failed or something!!!

Most definitely! First, I need a bookmark …specifically one that complements my book cover. I know weird, but I owe up to the weirdness:} After reaching100 pages of a good book, I often feel as if I've put in the work and will soon be rewarded with hopefully a great ending.

That's it exactly! I actually like the bookmark thing, since I can never decide on a bookmark!
