I will start this review by saying that I don’t read a lot of romance. Saying that, I do listen to Nora Roberts audiobooks, but only the writing she has done after leaving Harlequin. It’s not that I don’t like a nice steamy story…far from it! My problem is that a lot of romances are too short and do not involve enough of the story other than the sex.
Thankfully, I did not run into such problems with this book. Granted, there were a few occasions where I felt the sex was overly focused, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. It’s a romance, after all!!! The sex is important. I loved that there were a lot of scenes of sexual tension versus actual sex. That took the reader on a journey. Plus the sex scenes were very interesting and well written. I do have an overall gripe with romance, and this is it. Can we please make the first time a little more realistic? I know it’s writing, and fiction…but when girls are virgins, and they are making love for the first time, what are the chances that it’s going to feel good, let alone be mind-blowing? Does this ever bother anyone else????
The story was great, though! I could have used a little more from the antagonist, but then the book would have went a little long. I wanted to find out, or maybe explore, why the Druid wanted her so specifically. She’s powerful, but he seems to focus on her from their first meeting. I wish there was some more explaining there.
Caitlin and Griffin were engaging and enjoyable. In general, the characters in this book were perfectly executed. The sister was obnoxious, but admirable. The friend was sweet and likable. The Dark Druid was despicably evil.
Overall this book was very good. So much so that I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. For now, I just have to endure the most frustrating part about reading a good book…waiting for the sequel.

Thank you for the great review. It's difficult to write love scenes, make them believable and yet keep the reader involved. There will be more about the Dark Druids and why they want the Glyndwr sisters and to control their powers. That's the fun of writing a series, you can build the back story, add more characters and develop a more intricate plot. As an author, it's always wonderful to hear a reader say they want more.
