~My Thoughts~
This is one of the most exciting books I have received in a long time, simply because of its beautiful pictures and the amount of places it adds to my travel bucket list.
I admit that I am ridiculously ignorant when it comes to US parks. For some reason, I have always been drawn to European travel destinations, and underwhelmed by domestic offerings, primarily because of the lack of history. Atlas of National Parks is a great reminder that the history of the US did not begin with the Declaration of Independence and its historical value shouldn’t be tied to this country’s foundation.
The land itself is bountiful and plentiful, with innumerable activities and destinations containing untold adventures waiting to be had. A quick flip through these pictures brings a unique perspective to our own understanding of the US.
We take for granted all this land has to offer. It’s so beautiful, breathtaking, and vast that its difficult to contain it all in one book, but the Atlas of National Parks is the best effort I have ever seen.
