My Thoughts
When I sat down to review this book, I was really depressed. Let me think about all of the wonderful places I would be able to visit but can’t because of Covid-19.
What could be worse?
But then, I thought, what if I reread this book looking forward to all of the places I can go once this is all over. What if this becomes my post-Covid-19 goal?
So that’s how I’m hoping you will do with both this review, this book, and all things during this difficult time. Find the good and look forward to it.
One of the places I am definitely going is to West Point. I had no idea it looked like a Scottish castle, but there it is, nestled into the hills of New York along the Lower Hudson Route (pg. 142). Being a Revolutionary war enthusiast, I will also check out Fort Clinton and Fort Putnam while I’m in the area as is suggested.
In case my last trail sparked some interest, might I suggest Revolution Road found on page 160? Here, Yogerst takes you on the ultimate revolutionary war trip, with a route already laid out that will take you through the war from beginning to end. This is a sprawling, multi-state road trip which will take some time, but is packed from start to finish activities and historic sites.
“From the cradle of rebellion and the “shot heard ’round the world” in Massachusetts
If you’re not a history buff, fear not, you can try the more scenic routes like Skyline & Blue Ridge or Wandering the Adirondacks.
For the winos like me, I can’t wait to try the Northwest Wine & Dine plan. With a route centered on beautiful vineyards and tasty restaurants, you’re sure to find a plethora of things to please your palette.
I have already dog eared so many pages and can’t wait to hit the road. So, satisfy your wanderlust while you’re cooped up in the house by reading 100 Drives, 5000 Ideas and exploring what could be your next great road trip.
*Special thanks to Joe Yogerst, TLC Book Tours, and National Geographic for providing a copy of 100 Drives, 5000 Ideas in exchange for an honest review.

Yes! Make yourself a road trip to-do list, that is what usually gets me through this weird not quite winter but not really spring time anyways. Thank you for being on this tour! Sara @ TLC Book Tours

This is such a weird time, but hopefully things like this will remind people that eventually we can get back to our normal lives and have stuff to look forward to. 🙂
