cinematography and musical scores, but it literally reinvented
storytelling in movies. Think about it, the main character, the only
character the audience is attached to, is murdered in the first hour.
Yet, the movie doesn’t suffer for it. Plus, little known fact, though
the shower scene is violent and gruesome, the Director (Hitchcock)
doesn’t show a single stabbing. Favorite Scene:
2. Rosemary’s Baby (1968) – This movie is just disturbing from start to finish, even in light of modern day scary movies. I didn’t think something this old would be that freaky.
3. Halloween (1978) – This movie is nearly 35 years years old, and I watch it every Halloween. It still scares me. I have to get popcorn, a blanket, and a pillow to cower behind – if I am alone, I need a glass of wine, purely medicinal of course (my nerves). 😉 Anyway, I get chills from the music alone…
4. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) & (2003) – I listed both of them because they are primarily the same story, but are scary for completely different reasons. The original is sadistic and creepy. A chair made out of body parts, ewwww. The remake, however, made me scream so loud in the theater that I scared myself with my own screams. I couldn’t talk the next day…seriously.
