My Thoughts

I don’t typically review a lot of children’s books, but right now, I think it’s really important to teach children about diversity and equality.

I saw This is the Earth and realized it had the message that I want my children to learn. The world is a big place, full of different people, all of whom are beautiful.

This is the Earth is a great children’s book about diversity because it explores so many different cultures, races, and physical abilities. The illustrations perfectly depict the story and are lively and colorful.

There is an overall message of acceptance in This is the Earth. How different people cna live their own lives but live them along with each other. This quote really got me:

“I promise to hear you and when I don’t like what I see, I will try to see you through your lens, not the one made for me.“

I want to remember and use this quote everyday.

My kids were thoroughly entertained and I felt so good reading this book to them. I hope we see even more books like this filling shelves for all ages.
