In The Nick of Time is a timely tale about a little Brown Boy who helps Santa save Christmas for one special family in need. Nick Saint never really put a lot of thought into his name until one snowy day in December when he accidentally receives a letter meant for Saint Nick.
Realizing there is not much time left until Christmas, Nick opens the letter. The unexpected message inside ultimately leads him on a journey of understanding poverty, gratitude, and service to others while discovering the real meaning of the holiday spirit.
“In The Nick of Time is a story that is beautiful and filled with messages that all children need to hear about poverty, gratitude, and service to others. We believe Santa would be so proud. And so am I.”

My Thoughts
We are in full Christmas mode in this house, and honestly have been for weeks, because I needed this. 2020 has taken way too much from me, so I’m taking a little time back by enjoying an extra long holiday season.
With that in mind, I love getting the chance to review any Christmas book. Add in the fact that I can read it to my kids and impart a valuable lesson about giving and being grateful, I am over the moon.
I honestly do not know what more you could want in a children’s holiday book. Though it’s written in a narrative style instead of rhyming verse, In the Nick of Time is a wonderfully festive and engrossing book for kids.
The characters were adorable but also full of heart. I could really feel the desire of each child to do something good while also experiencing the wide eyed wonder of Christmas from vastly different circumstances. I want my kids to want to help as much as these children do.
I can’t get over the beautiful messages in this book. So many wonderful ideals illustrated brilliantly in a story that will leave you a little teary eyed. As a mom, I know how hard it is to teach kids about gratitude and putting the needs of others above your own. Reading In the Nick of Time not only taught these lessons, but also provided us with a great holiday moment.
Thanks so much to Deedee Cummings and iRead Book Tours for my copy of In the Nick of Time in exchange for an honest review.
